Our Aspiring Middle Leader programme seeks to prepare delegates for this crucial role via a series of sessions delivered by Director of School Improvement and Executive Principal. The Aspiring Middle Leader programme is a six part course with one session each half term throughout the academic year. If you are interested in becoming a middle leader or have recently become one we’d love you to join our Aspiring Middle Leaders programme!

Session 01: Models of leadership and what good leadership means to you.
Session 02: Building a team.
Session 03: Improvement plans and leading change.
Session 04: Dealing with the unexpected and evaluating your impact.
Session 05: Time Management.
Session 06: The practical process of becoming a Middle Leader.

Middle leaders play a critical role in our schools. It is middle leaders who ensure a school’s vision is turned into reality, that policy translates into practice. They provide a vital bridge between senior leaders and the teaching staff, acting as both a filter and buffer.
James Bowen, NAHT director of policy and director of NAHT Edge.
